Meet the team – Ulf Gustafsson

To celebrate four incredible years with our Chief Product Officer Ulf Gustafsson, we sat down for a quick interview to reflect on his journey at EazyStock. From product milestones to team culture, it’s a mix of insights and lighthearted moments that celebrate how far we’ve come, and what’s ahead.

What is your proudest moment at EazyStock?

I feel the team has accomplished many great things. However, if I had to pick the proudest moment, it would be the major achievements the team delivered during 2023 to launch our next-generation product, internally called Evolution. This included several powerful, newly developed features, a best-of-breed integration platform, and a fully automated implementation and onboarding tool that made integrations and implementations significantly easier and faster. Many of these have been in our vision documents for a long time, but they are now delivered in the product!

How has EazyStock changed since you arrived?

Even more ambitious growth plans! It’s great to see how collaboration and alignment between the product team and the entire EazyStock team have developed significantly over the past years. Today, I truly feel we are ONE EazyStock team. Zooming in on the product team, we have taken many steps toward an even strong customer and user centricity. In general, we are eagerly and continuously adopting best practices in modern product development.

What do you love most about the product and/or the team?

Team: I’m amazed by the great things a small group of curious, smart, open-minded, and dedicated people can continuously deliver. I’m very proud of the product development team — their willingness to explore, learn new things, and adapt to new circumstances is truly remarkable. Overall, the culture and atmosphere at EazyStock make this a fantastic place to work!

Product: That we keep focusing on putting user experience at the centre of our product, even for very complex features. We are passionate about simplifying the complex.

One thing you’d tell your day-one self?

I would have told myself not to underestimate the need for, and focus on, change management to drive transition. This would emphasize the importance of communicating the vision and direction across the teams.

What is one work tool you can’t live without?

The tools that have become fundamental and highly integrated into my daily work over the last two years are the powerful AI solutions now available (such as ChatGPT, NotebookLM, and MS Copilot, etc).

What is your go-to snack or drink during product planning sessions?

I usually stick to a lot of coffee! 😊

Something about you the team doesn’t know?

Hmm, I’m rather transparent and open about myself, and I don’t mind sharing life experiences — whether positive or challenging — if anyone is curious. I don’t feel I have any secret talent or anything like that 😊, and I guess most of the team already knows that I love to go for a run as often as I can!

I’m also a bit nerdy when it comes to new technology and gadgets. I would describe myself as an early adopter, and from a very young age I have always been eager to explore the possibilities that new technologies can bring.
